Miller got two goals

Rebels maintain away record
by Nathan on 25/08/2003

A Match Report from Monday's win away at Molesey

Molesey 0-3 Slough Town

Date: 25/08/03
KO: 3:00 PM
Venue: Walton Road (Molesey)
Slough Goals: Andy Deaner (18 min), Matt Miller (36 + 54 min)
Opponent Goals: None
Attendance: 220

1st Half

Slough started the better team as they played more attacking football than I have seen them play for a long while. Andy Deaner started for the first time in quite a while.

It was Andy Deaner in fact that scored Slough's first goal when he latched onto a long ball across the goal and just about managed to turn it inside the far post.

Matt Miller added a second before half-time when he latched onto a chip from Tony Boot from close range to send it past the keeper.

Molesey began to get back into the game as the half progressed, but they never really seemed like scoring.

2nd Half

Slough had many chances in the second half but Ryan Spencer, Tony Boot, Matt Miller and substitute, Ian Hodges, all fired wide. Molesey didn't take what chances they had, but on 54 minutes Matt Miller increased Slough's lead when a long downfield kick from Rebels keeper Alan Foster was met by the head of Andy Deaner who cleverly chipped the ball over the defence and straight to Miller who flicked the ball over the oncoming keeper.

Another away win for the Rebels, it's just a shame they can't take their away form onto the pitch at Stag Meadow.
