Rebels Beaten By Woeful Whyteleafe

1st Half

The Rebels came out expecting to win against a side that hadn't won a home league match so far this season. I must say, Whyteleafe were the most poor and disorganised team I have seen play since the season the Rebels got relegated.

Slough had the majority of the play (so what else is new?) but as usual, didn't do much with it. We thought that we had taken the lead early when one of our players headed home from a corner, but the linesman flagged for offside.

Not much happened in the first half, Whyteleafe scored late on but I can't comment on it because I didn't see it. All I know is that Whyteleafe knew they didn't deserve it, for the rest of the game they resorted to wasting as much time as possible. The referee was the worst I have seen in ages, and that's just for the first half! Rather than making his own mind up, he seemed to be swayed by the calls from the very vocal home support.

2nd Half

The second half saw the Rebels fans take to the stand behind the goal, where we had the best view you could get at this ground and what's more, we could see everything in our half clearly, shame the ref couldn't!

The second half Slough had by far the majority of the possession, but we panicked in front of goal. Whyteleafe were happy to just punt the ball up-field and hope for the best while Slough had a hard time in midfield with Ryan Spencer trying to run it himself.

Slough had several corners, all resulting in one of our players losing the ball and Whyteleafe clearing it out of danger. Whyteleafe finally killed the game off late when they scored. A cross was met by one of their players who tapped home into the unguarded net.

Apologies for the lack of Match Photos, the floodlights, like the ref, were not the brightest!
