Slough's hopeful run of getting back into the promotion race
continued as Slough overcame the Corinthian-Casuals by two goals to
A very scrappy first half and a very bad second half. The
Corinthian-Casuals went ahead in the second half when a Slough
player brought down a Corinthian-Casuals player inside the area.
Their player hit the ball past Alan Foster.
From then on the Corinthian-Casuals were intent on wasting as
much time as possible. They were falling all over the place and
taking far too much time from set pieces.
Mid-way through the second half Slough won a penalty. Danny Steer
was brought down in the box. Ryan Spencer hit the ball to the
'keeper's left but the keeper had it covered all the way. Ian Hodges
netted the rebound, but the goal was disallowed. Apparently, a
Slough player was inside the box when the penalty was taken and the
ref awarded the Corinthian-Casuals a free-kick.
Slough equalised later on when Steve Daly headed the ball down
into the net from an Alex Haddow corner.
Slough scored the winner EIGHT minutes into injury time! Danny
Steer unleashed a right-footed shot into the corner of the net.
