The Report
The Rebels crashed out of the Bryco Cup at the first hurdle for the second year in succession by the hands of Division One North high-flyers Cheshunt.

The Rebels were missing several key players, Steve Daly, Nick Gyoury, Paul Barrowcliff, Mark Bartley, Darron Wilkinson (left) and Alex Haddow were all injured and had to miss the game.

Slough started well and played some neat football and looked as if they were going to score first. Tony Boot latched onto a Freddie Hyatt pass but his shot went high over the bar. Three minutes later he had another chance to score, but that shot missed the target as well.

Danny Steer fired wide when he latched onto Danny Steer (below right) ball into space.

Soon afterwards Darren Cox found a way through the Slough defence but Michael Gilkes tackled well and cleared the danger.

Slough fell behind when Darren Cox mustered a shot that managed to beat Alan Foster at his near post.

Slough had to rely on Alan Foster and his shot stopping skills for the rest of the half to keep the score at 1-0 at half-time.

Early in the second half Cheshunt forward Archer ran through the Slough defence and unleashed an excellent shot that beat Alan Foster (left).

Archer had the win secure when he fired a powerful low shot underneath Alan Foster.

Freddie Hyatt hit a cross into the heart of the Cheshunt area and Adrian Brown connected with it for a consolation goal.

Cheshunt killed us off when Cox chipped the ball over Alan Foster to finished the match off in style.

But against all odds, it was The Rebels who finished the game on top. TheCheshunt keeper pulled of some good saves from Ryan Spencer (right) and Michael Gilkes.

Ah well, at least this game was in the Bryco cup instead of the league. It is the league that we really have to concentrate on, fall behind now and the season is finished. And then there is always the Berks & Bucks Cup...
