The Rebels crashed out of the Bryco Cup at the first hurdle for
the second year in succession by the hands of Division One North
Rebels were missing several key players, Steve Daly, Nick Gyoury,
Paul Barrowcliff, Mark Bartley, Darron Wilkinson (left) and Alex
Haddow were all injured and had to miss the game.
Slough started well and played some neat football and looked as
if they were going to score first. Tony Boot latched onto a Freddie
Hyatt pass but his shot went high over the bar. Three minutes later
he had another chance to score, but that shot missed the target as
Danny Steer fired wide when he latched onto Danny Steer
(below right) ball into space.
afterwards Darren Cox found a way through the Slough defence but
Michael Gilkes tackled well and cleared the danger.

Slough had to rely on Alan Foster and his
shot stopping skills for the rest of the half to keep the score at
1-0 at half-time.
in the second half Cheshunt forward Archer ran through the Slough
defence and unleashed an excellent shot that beat Alan Foster
Archer had the win secure when he fired a powerful low
shot underneath Alan Foster.
Freddie Hyatt hit a cross into the
heart of the Cheshunt area and Adrian Brown connected with it for a
Cheshunt killed us off when Cox chipped the ball
over Alan Foster to finished the match off in style.
all odds, it was The Rebels who finished the game on top. TheCheshunt
keeper pulled of some good saves from Ryan Spencer (right) and
Ah well, at least this game was in the Bryco cup
instead of the league. It is the league that we really have to concentrate
on, fall behind now and the season is finished. And then there is
always the Berks & Bucks Cup...
