The Report
The 04/05 season started with the longest trip of the season away at Dover Athletic. Although the Rebels controlled the first-half, they didn't deliver up front and Dover sneaked the lead with a shot from the edge of the area just before half-time.

It looked as though Slough would score the first goal of the game with Dover rarely testing Jake Whincup in the Slough goal. The closest Dover came to scoring before they opening the scoring, Cloke firing just over the bar from Skelton's corner.

Dover took the lead just on the stroke of half-time when bad Slough defending allowed Wright to run clear down the wing and play a nice through ball to Sidmore who fired the ball past Jake Whincup and into the far corner.

Half-Time score: Dover Athletic 1-0 Slough Town

Slough continued to pressurise the Dover goal, but didn't create many clear-cut chances, preferring instead to walk the ball up to the goal.

Dover doubled their lead when Moller failed to clear the ball, Wright took the opportunity to slot the ball into the goal from close range.

The Rebels didn't give up, but with 20 minutes to go Dover put the game beyond doubt when Wright fired the ball into the top corner following confusion in the Slough defence.

Slough did grab a consolation when a corner met the head of Ian Hodges to head home at the near post.
