The 04/05 season started with the longest trip of the season away at
Dover Athletic. Although the Rebels controlled the first-half, they
didn't deliver up front and Dover sneaked the lead with a shot from
the edge of the area just before half-time.
It looked as though
Slough would score the first goal of the game with Dover rarely
testing Jake Whincup in the Slough goal. The closest Dover came to
scoring before they opening the scoring, Cloke firing just over the
bar from Skelton's corner.
Dover took the lead just on the stroke of half-time when bad
Slough defending allowed Wright to run clear down the wing and play
a nice through ball to Sidmore who fired the ball past Jake Whincup
and into the far corner.

Slough continued to pressurise the Dover goal, but didn't create
many clear-cut chances, preferring instead to walk the ball up to
Dover doubled their lead when Moller failed to clear the ball,
Wright took the opportunity to slot the ball into the goal from
The Rebels didn't give up, but with 20 minutes to go Dover put
the game beyond doubt when Wright fired the ball into the top corner
following confusion in the Slough defence.
Slough did grab a consolation when a corner met the head of Ian
Hodges to head home at the near post.
