Rebels reached the 1st round of the FA Cup for the second time in
three years when they beat Salisbury City at Stag Meadow for the
second time this season. Alex Haddow's 2nd minute free-kick, Ian
Hodges 16th minute header and Darron Wilkinson's 88th minute shot
were enough to set up a 1st round tie with Paul Merson's Walsall.
Haddow gave Slough their dream start with just 2 minutes on the
clock when his free-kick curled around the wall and into the net.
Salisbury equalised four minutes later when bad defending allowed
Mathews to run behind the defence and score from close range.
Ten minutes after that Ian Hodges headed in a Glen Harris
(pictured right) corner. That is how it stayed until half-time

Salisbury came out for the second-half with all guns blazing and,
with some better shooting, could have put the game out of sight
before they levelled the scores in the 62nd minute.
An alleged handball in the area by a Slough defender was punished
with a penalty and Wallace sent Jake Whincup the wrong way from the
took Slough some time to find their feet in this half and they
started to put some pressure on the Salisbury defence. That pressure
was rewarded in the 88th minute when Josias Carbon received the ball
inside the box, did well in holding the ball and tapping it
backwards for Darron Wilkinson (pictured left) to fire Slough into
the 1st round.
