The Report
The Rebels made it three wins out of three for home matches against Cheshunt this season.

The only team news ahead of the match was that goalkeeper Shaun Allaway is still injured, and that defender Michael Murphy was serving a one-match suspension.

Slough welcomed back Nick Gyoury (pictured above left) to Stag Meadow, after only a few days since he joined today's opponents from the Rebels!

The 1st-half was lacking goalmouth opportunities. Slough had one chance cleared off the line, and only really started threatening Cheshunt's goal towards the end of the half.

Matt Murphy (pictured right) put Slough ahead on the stroke of half-time when the ball fell for the perfect height for him to smack the ball into the net.

2nd Half

Slough started the second half the brightest, but Cheshunt never really got going and allowed the home team to enjoy the majority of the play.

Ian Hodges (pictured left), playing in defence today, doubled Slough advantage on 62 minutes when he headed Glen Harris's (pictured below right) cross over the 'keeper from close range.

On came Matt Miller (pictured below left) with about twenty minutes to go in place off Matt Murphy. He had three good goalscoring opportunities. The first, Ryan Spencer's through ball found him unmarked, but he was caught in an offside position.

His second, Miller ran through on goal with only the goalkeeper to beat, but he took his shot far too early and scuffed it well wide.

His final chance, Alex Haddow managed to get a cross from the left wing after having beaten two defenders, Matt Miller's back heel hit the post and rebounded to safety.

The Rebels had one other good chance. Substitute Leigh Masson, recently promoted to the first team squad from the capital league side, forced a good save from the Cheshunt goalkeeper with a curling shot from inside the area.
