The Report
Slough lost their fourth home match in all competitions this season as they went down to Chelmsford City by two goals to nil.

It was the home team who had the first chance of the match, Ryan Spencer (pictured left) firing over the bar from the edge of the area following the goalkeepers clearance.

The visitors took the lead through Russell Edwards, who capitalised on poor defending and guided a header at the far post following a corner.

Chelmsford could of extended their lead with just over half an hour gone. Ian Hodges (pictured right) cleared a header off the line barley two minutes before Steve Daly did the same from a close range shot.

By this time, Chelmsford were dominating the game. Slough were lucky not to be 2 or 3 goals down, and had not managed a single shot on target.

Slough finally had a shot on goal with about five minutes to go until half-time. Matt Murphy (pictured left) received the ball inside the area in a good shooting position, but instead of having a shot, he passed the ball to Matt Seedel whose shot deflected off a defender and went out for a corner.

Chelmsford have another great chance to extend their lead moments later, but Shaun Allaway pulled off a great save from a header following a cross from the right wing.

2nd half

With just over an hour gone, Chelmsford gained a free-kick in a dangerous position just outside the Slough penalty area. The free-kick went over the wall and Shaun Allaway dived to his right to pull of an important save.

Ten minutes later, Slough had a very good chance to score when Glen Harris (pictured above right) put substitute Dan Cann through on goal, but Cann couldn't connect with the ball whilst under pressure, and it was cleared for a corner. From the resulting corner, Matt Seedel left the ball for Josias Carbon who fired well over the bar from a promising position.

With about five minutes remaining, Chelmsford could have made the three points safe but Garry Cross's long range shot hit the post and rebounded to safety.

But four minutes into injury time he did make the win secure when he capitalised on Christian Metcalfe's (pictured left) error, ran with the ball into the penalty area and slotted the ball past the oncoming Shaun Allaway.
