Slough put in a spirited performance at Folkestone on Thursday
night, but the cup success earlier on in the season is finally
starting to take its toll on the Rebels, who rested several key
players ahead on next week's Bryco cup Final.
Barely eight minutes
into the game and slough found themselves a goal down. Guest, who
had missed a couple of early chances found the back of the net after
he converted Myall's cross.
But it wasn't long before the Rebels found themselves back on
level terms. Daniel Cann scored his first senior goal in a Slough
shirt as he ran onto Danny Steer's pass and shot low into the corner
of the net.
The visitors didn't do themselves any favours as James Saulsbury
was dismissed for handling Munday's shot off the line. Paul Lamb
failed to convert the resulting penalty, but Lindsey was on hand to
send the ball back into the area for Myall to aim a powerful header
into the roof of the net.
Slough had a golden opportunity to level the scores again on 65
minutes, but Matt Miller, having been put through on goal, failed to
hit the target.
The hosts made the points safe when James Dryden nodded the bal
into the net after his initial header had come back off the
underside of the crossbar.
