A late Ryan Spencer goal proved only to be a consolation goal as
Slough lost yet another game.
Manager Eddie Denton decided to rest
some of the squad ahead of the Bryco Cup final with only James
Saulsbury, Michael Murphy Glen Harris and Josias Carbon retaining
their pace in the squad.
It took only 22 minutes for Heybridge to take the lead. Carl
Griffiths close range shot beat Shaun Allaway following John
Cliff Akurang doubled their lead six minutes later when he
unleashed a curling shot past Shaun Allaway from inside the area.
Matt Miller had Slough's best chance of the half, but goalkeeper
Paul Rutherford saved his shot well.
Heybridge continued to look the better team and still continued
to threaten, but it took until 75 minutes for them to put the game
beyond all doubt.
Griffiths got his second goal of the game as a Jamie Baker shot
took a deflection off his team-mate and wrong footed Shaun Allaway
to make the score 3-0 and game over.
Ryan Spencer did manage to get a goal back deep into injury time,
his curling shot spinning into the far side of the net from inside
