The Report
Slough fans were in a festive mood after Thursday's Bryco Cup victory, and the arrival of the intrepid walkers added to the days good feeling, as did the sun.

Slough took up where they left off, making all the running in the first five minutes. However, on Worthing's first attack, Slough were torn apart for Alexander to slot home. Slough continued to be the better side, but couldn't turn possession into clear chances, though Michael Murphy did hit the post with a 30 yard pile driver.

Missed some of the detail in this half, as a couple of locals provided splendid entertainment with a cameo of how to make a complete pratt of yourself.
Better than Punch and Judy they were, though I'm not sure who would have the reddest noses. In the week in which the Ivory Billed Woodpecker was rediscovered having been considered extinct for 60 years (click here), it was interesting to discover that only 62 miles from Slough, Neanderthal Man had survived 30,000 years and was alive and well in Worthing, spending much time in the vice-presidents bar.

Slough could count themselves unlucky to be 1 down at half time.

From the restart, Carbon, who had caused problems throughout the first half, continued to tease Worthing, easily having the better of his opponent. Matt Murphy scored first, getting onto a rebound from the crossbar. The rest of the second half was a bit of a Seedel cameo, ably aided by Carbon.

Seedel's first came after a bit of a scramble and a save from Hodges, but his next two were class goals. The final one was all Seedel's doing. Lost the ball at the edge of the area, chased back, won it again, drifted sublimely past 2 defenders to slot the ball home.

A very very good performance and a fitting way to end a very very good season. I am not certain about this, but could optimistic live in Worthing?
