returned to winning ways against struggling Redbridge at the Oakside
Stadium on Tuesday night.
Slough's first chances came after 10
minutes, with Jamie Brooks (pictured left) picking up Hodge's pass
and forcing a good save from the 'keeper.
With both sides finding chances, it was the Rebels who broke the
deadlock with half an hour gone. Darron Wilkinson saw his two shots
blocked, with the latter falling kindly to Leigh Mason whose rebound
span into the corner of the net.
minutes later the home side were rewarded for their pressure as
David Apata equalised. Apata fired home from close range following a
Slough regained the lead just before half-time. Ian Hodges
(pictured right) met Jamie Brooks' cross at the far post and made no
mistake in guiding it into the back of the net.
Ian Hodges got his second goal of the night soon after the
restart, meeting Andy Ballard (pictured below left) long throw and
heading the ball into the net from inside the area.
Slough happy to defend, the game slowed down as Redbridge tried
unsuccessfully to get back into the match. Leon Woodruffe and Josh
Miller both squandered chances for Slough before substitute Michael
Alexis put the game beyond doubt as he headed the ball across the
goalmouth and into the far corner of the net following another Andy
Ballard long throw.
The Rebels comfortably held on for the rest of the game for a
rare win in Essex.
