This was a vital match for both sides. Whoever lost would feel the
threat of the relegation zone breathing down their necks.
started the brighter of the 2 teams, and just after the quarter hour
deservedly took the lead when Crace outpaced the Slough defence to
slot past Parkin. They deserved to take the lead having come close
Slough were unable to get going, with no one in midfield willing
to hold the ball. Get rid asap seemed to be the mindset, showing
that confidence is low. Hendon continued to pressure throughout the
first half, but no more goals resulted.
The second half started badly for Slough, when Hendon launched a
quick counter attack. With Alexis still looking displeased that he
was not awarded a foul, Hendon broke away, 2 passes and Hunt slotted
home past a flat footed Slough defence.
The home team had a glimmer of hope a few minutes later when
Murphy of Hendon was sent off for kicking out at Hodges, but
although Slough now had the majority of the possession and caused a
number of goalmouth scrambles, Hendon held on to be deserved
