The Report

Slough started brightly and should of been 3-0 ahead within the first 10 minutes, as Slough missed three easy chances. First, Leigh Mason side-footed wide from 5 yards with an open goal to aim for, then Matt Seedel (pictured right) failed to get a good touch on the ball, thus allowing a defender to clear before it crossed the line, and Andrew Ballard missing by the width of the goal from about 10 yards.

The game died down after that and Leatherhead got back into the game, forcing a good save from Clark Masters to keep out a shot heading for the far corner.

The Rebels took a deserved lead through Leon Woodruffe (pictured left) as he hit a free-kick through the wall and into the bottom left corner of the net.

Despite a number of fierce shots missing the target, Leatherhead failed to threaten the Slough goal as the game drifted into the half-time break.

Slough took their foot off the peddle after the break and allowed Leatherhead some more possession, but they still failed to threaten Clark Masters (pictured right) in the Slough goal.

Unlike the first-half, chances were few and far between, and with about 15 minutes to go, Leatherhead missed a golden opportunity to level the scores as a forward slammed the ball over the bar from close range in what was their only real chance of the second-half.

The cup holders finally made the game safe in the 86th minute, with Gareth McCleary chasing a lost ball, managing to keep it in play down the left wing, delivering a brilliant cross for skipper Steve Daly (pictured left) to head in at the far post.
