Slough's hold on the Ryman League Cup was loosened
as the Rebels lost to Fisher Athletic for the second time in three
Fisher's Lenny Piper has given the home side the
lead within two minutes, but the Rebels levelled through top scorer
Ian Hodges when he nipped in and lobbed the ball into the corner of
Five minutes later Slough took an unlikely lead
after a free-kick was bundled into his own net by Duku.
Just before half-time though Fisher drew level
through their top scorer Steve Watts when he slotted home from
inside the penalty, prompting the Fisher goalkeeper to wind up the
travelling Slough fans by making gestures at them.
The Rebels fell behind for the second time in the
match when Taylor fired the ball home from 5 yards out after 'keeper
Clark Masters had bundled Riviere's shot.
From then on the home side dominated the game.
Fisher doubled their lead as Taylor was left
unmarked by poor Slough defending for him to run and slot the ball
In the 89th minute, Fisher scored their fifth goal
after Barr was bought down inside the area. Barr was subsequently
booked after arguing with his captain and the referee as to who was
going to take the penalty.
In the end it didn't matter, as Steve Watts bagged
his second of the night with a low shot that beat Clark Masters in
the Slough goal.
