Slough bowed out of the Westview League Cup at the
Semi-Final stage despite a 3-1.
Lenny Piper's early goal looked to have given Fisher
an unassailable 6-2 aggregate lead.
Leigh Mason should of put Slough back on level terms
when one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he saved Mason's weak shot
in what should haveb been an easy goal.
The Rebels continued to pressurise and gained an
equaliser just before half-time, Gareth McCleary's shot taking a
slight deflection off Fisher defender Jason Rose.
Sough continued to put on the pressure and were
rewarded with a goal just 2 minutes into the second half, when
Gareth McCleary ran through the defence and shot past 'keeper James
The Rebels continued to snuff out any threat from
the Fisher forwards as they pushed for the two goals that would of
taken them level on aggregate, and this seemed a real possibility
when Steve Daly headed home a Gareth McCleary free-kick with ten
minutes to go.
However it was not to be, and it is Fisher who go
through to play Billericay in the Final on April 12th.
