All that can be said about the game is
that Slough weren't at the races and Boreham Wood had a practice
session and took the lead with Leon Archer finishing a disputable penalty which many thought was a blatant dive, with Steve Dell and Ian Lovegrove being booked as a consequence.
Bad defending allowed Chris Bangura to
sneak in and head in the home sides second goal soon afterwards
at the far post. They then took their foot off the pedal a
little but still coasted to the end of the half, during which
time Lovegrove picked up his second booking with a high
Boreham Wood netted a third soon
after the interval when Lee Allinson, despite being marked by
several defenders was allowed to turn and score with a neat
finish into the bottom corner of the net.
Goals 4 and 5 were both scored in
similar fashion, bad defending allowing forwards time and space
on the ball leaving Kieron Drake with no chance but goal number
6 was of his doing when he managed to palm a shot into his own
net with little under 10 minutes to go.
I know we have lots of injuries
and suspensions and were playing an in-form side, but if that's
the best we have in reserve then something needs to be done
