Despite having several key players back
from suspensions and injury, Slough hardly managed to threaten
the visitors goal all afternoon.
With rumours of the players unrest
at not being paid, many thinking that some threatened not to
play, some of them may not have even bothered as this was poor.
Had the visitors had their
shooting boots on, they would have been out of sight by the
break. On many occasions during the first half they managed to
get behind our defence, only to miss the target from good
The only wonder was how it took
Heybridge 55 minutes to get on the scoresheet. Kieron Drake with
another one of those moments where simple schoolboy errors cost
us as he rushed out to catch, only succeeded in missing the ball
and leaving Gary Burrell with an open goal.
Although Slough didn't give up,
they didn't cause the visitors any major problems and poor
defending made the score 2-0.
