The Report
A skeleton Slough side were beaten by old rivals Aylesbury United in the "massive" cup at Stag Meadow on Wednesday night.

The game played out in true Slough Town style as they had slightly more possession, but the visitors had the better chances.

The opening 10 minutes belonged to the visitors, with missed chances from Kevin Mealor and Enzo Silvestri meaning that the score stayed 0-0.

Terry Davies missed Sloughs opening chance of the match as he narrowly missed the near post after good build-up play between him and Mark Bartley (pictured left).

It was Bartley who missed Sloughs next chance, but he was unlucky to see his shot fly narrowly wide of the far post.

Around 10 minutes before the break, Richard Pringle opened the scoring as he powerfully headed Kevin Mealor's cross past Kieron Drake from an offside position and against the run of play.

The lead didn't last long, as Matt Miller (pictured right) scored his first goal at Stag Meadow since November 2003 when he was given time and space in the area to turn and hit a shot low into the near corner for 1-1.

Despite this Slough still managed to go into the half-time break behind when Richard Pringle doubled his tally after being set up by Leon Gutzmore.

Slough continued to search for that elusive second goal after the break, but offered little in the final third, with the Ducks looking dangerous on the counter-attack.

Missed chances from Terry Davies, Matt Miller and Leigh Mason (pictured left) meant that Slough have to wait at least another year to win the all-important Berks & Bucks Cup, a trophy that has eluded Slough for the past 26 years.
