Slough's recent bad form continues as Hampton put 3 past Slough on a muddy pitch, that was somewhat worse than that at Hendon two weeks ago.

With a makeshift squad with several new faces, prospects of a victory against a side who were on a run of 4 straight league wins seemed slim even from the start. With Mark Bartley and Steve Daly suspended, Slough started the game with no natural centre-backs and a midfielder in defence.

It didn't take long for the visitors to threaten, as after ten minutes a close range goalbound shot was deflected out for a corner, which was headed narrowly wide of the target.

The match had its fair share of incidents, as Ian Hodges escaped with a yellow card for catching Steve Dell in the face with his boot, and Slough manager Mark West getting sent to the stands for voicing his opinion over the matter.

Rob Paris gave Hampton the lead with just under 20 minutes gone, as he headed home a poorly defended free-kick floated in from the left wing.

The visitors could have doubled their lead soon afterwards, but Ian Hodges slammed the ball against the post when it was easier to score.

Slough didn't give up though, and had a couple of half-chances, the best of which being a Terry Davies effort sailing narrowly over the crossbar.

However it was 2-0 with 30 minutes gone, as Ian Hodges beat Kieron Drake to the ball to hammer home from inside the area.

The game drifted along until half-time, but suddenly sparked into life immediately after the restart as Abby Nsbuga forced a save from Matt Lovett, only for Matt Miller to somehow avoid scoring from all of 5 yards out as he slammed the rebound straight at the goalkeeper.

Slough became less likely to score as the match went on as what forward possession Slough did manage was wasted with Matt Miller and returning forward Steve Hale always man-marked.

Hampton hit the post with an Elliot Godfrey shot when one-on-one with Kieron Drake, but Victor Asombang managed to finish the game off as he put away a disputable penalty, but Slough still had a chance to score with a dangerous ball forced away by Matt Lovett as it was heading towards the far post.

Despite the scoreline, Hampton by no means dominated the game and although the score could have been bigger, 3-0 somewhat flattered the visitors who could have conceded a goal or two themselves.
