Despite an even opening half, the inexperience of the Slough squad eventually shone through and the Rebels collapsed to a 5-1 defeat.

It had started so well for Slough who took a shock, but deserved lead through recent signing Abbey Nsubuga, who finished from close range having been set up by George Moleski.

The game was turned the game on its head as Slough went from 1-0 up to 2-1 down within minutes.

Luke Fontana met the end of a ball over the Slough defence to slot past debutant Luke Pollard for Carshalton's equaliser.

Howarth took advantage of poor defending to hammer home the home sides second goal following an exchange of passes with Fontana on the edge of the area.

Slough missed chances through Matt Miller, Abby Nusbuga and Suleiman before the break, but soon after the restart Matt Miller had the ball in the back of the net only for it to be ruled off for offside.

Luke Fontana made it 3-1 having been put through on goal again, before he got in behind the Slough defence and made it 4-1 from a Cartledge through bal.

Hamici finished the scoring with a deflected shot going in off Jon Mills 5 minutes from time.

Whilst there is little doubt that Carshalton deserved the points, the 5-1 scoreline somewhat flattered them as Slough more than matched them during the first 45.
