The Rebels began their pre-season campaign at Neighbours Holyport and picked up a comfortable and morale-boosting victory to get their preparations off to a good start following the disaster of last season. The Rebels were further boosted by the return of Leon Woodruffe, Iain Duncain and Christian Metcalfe (pictured left) to the team.

Following a lengthy hold-up soon into the game for what was later revealed to be a broken leg for Tom Dontai, one of the Holyport defenders, Slough played with confidence against their lower-league opponents whilst not looking too threatening.

Terry Davies opened the scoring with a free-kick through the wall midway through the first half.

With several substitutions made by either side, the game continued with in the same fashion until Andy Deaner (pictured right) doubled the lead following a mishit Leon Woodruffe cross and a fumble by the goalkeeper.

As the ground had no floodlights, and following the 40 minute delay at the beginning of the game, it was decided to end the game early. Whilst the scoreline wasn't important, it was an important experience for the brand new squad.

Slough Town squad:
Jamie Jackson, Carl Dennison, Iain Duncan, Leon Woodruffe, Jon Mills, Mark Bartley, Mark Hokan, George Moleski, Nick Roddis, Christian Metcalfe, Danny Jefferies, Lucas Bizon, Andrew Deaner, Matt Miller, Terry Davies.

Following the Holyport victory, Slough never really got going and Terry Davies (pictured left) goal was the only bright spot in an otherwise dark day for a weakened Rebels squad against another lower-league opponent.

Poor defending lead to the home side taking an early lead, but Terry Davies equalised having been put through by Christian Metcalfe.

Rebels goalkeeper was lobbed having been beaten to the ball by an opposing forward to put East Preston back in front and to ultimately seal a deserved win.

Slough Town squad:

Having been thrashed 6-0 in this fixture last season, the Rebels had a score to settle with Ryman Premier side Boreham Wood.

However, another weakened Slough squad rarely threatened and were perhaps lucky to lose by only 5 goals.

With Slough lacking attacking potential, and with bad defending at fault for two of the goals, Slough went into the interval 4-0 down, little changed after the break and with the home side making 6 substitutions during the 2nd half, they didn't need to try and ran out 5-0 winners against a quite frankly unimpressive Slough side.

Slough welcomed 2 new trialists to the squad for their trip to Guildford City; Adrian Brown (pictured right) who returns after 4 years and experiences ex-conference striker Lee Charles.

With expectations for an improved performance, Slough didn't deliver and were comfortable beaten by another lower league side.

With a sloppy goalkeeping error gifting the home side the opening goal and yet more poor defending for the second, Slough rarely threatened, whilst providing Rebels manager Darron Wilkinson alot of food for thought.

Slough Town squad:
Matt Pollard, Rav Briach, Jon Mills, Adrian Brown, Leon Woodruffe, Christian Metcalfe, Adrian Clarke, George Moleski, Terry Davies, Matt Miller, Lee Charles. Subs: Mark Bartley, Andy Deaner.

An improved performance bought no reward as 10-man Slough failed to break down Dorking.

With a disputable goal separating the otherwise even sides, the only real highlight of the game were two sending's off, one for either side; both following Matt Millers (pictured left) retaliation following a tackle, with Miller sent off for the retaliation.

Slough Town squad:
Matt Pollard, Ravi Braich, Iain Duncan, Steve Daly, Adrian Clarke, Adrian Browne, Leon Woodruffe, Nick Roddis, Matt Miller, Terry Davies, Mark Bartley.

Slough welcomed Combined Counties league Neasden Foundation for their opening home game at Holloways Park, but didn't start well as within 20 minutes Slough found themselves 2-0 down with weak defending at fault for both goals.

The Rebels weren't play too badly and were creating a few chances, but our failure to take them and our failure to defend meant the difference between the sides.

Terry Davies pulled a goal back for Slough after half an hour and the score stayed that was until the break, with Neasden restoring their 2-goal lead 15 minutes into the second half.

Slough gradually began to come into the game, and with the (re)introduction of Byron Bubb (pictured right) looked rather threatening. Leon Woodruffe was unlucky with a 20 yard shot that narrowly missed the near post, and Terry Davies was too unlucky as he rebounded a shot just wide of the far post from a tight angle.

It was Terry Davies who scored a deserved second with a rebound having been put through on goal going into injury time, and Slough could have equalised soon afterwards, but Matt Miller mishit a shot from 2 yards out and somehow managed to scuff the shot wide of the far post for practically the last kick of the game.

Slough Town squad:
Matt Pollard, Jamie Jackson, Rav Braich, James Apps, Dean Harper, Adrian Browne, Leon Woodruffe, Jon Mills, Tom Windsor, Iain Duncan, Mark Hokan, Byron Bubb, Nick Roddis, Adrian Clark, Christian Metcalfe, Lucas Bizon, Mark Bartley, Terry Davies, Matt Miller, Andrew Deaner, Lee Charles.

Slough ended their pre-season campaign with yet another defeat in Essex.

Canvey Island took control of the game from the off and could have scored had it not been for Ian Luck and Nicky Rugg missing chances.

However, Gabriel Fanibuyan gave Canvey the lead by beating 3 defenders and firing a shot low into the corner. Ian Luck doubled the home side's advantage soon after half-time when he pounced on a loose ball.

However, Slough almost found a way back into the game when Lee Charles capitalised on a defensive mix-up and dribbled the ball into an empty net.

But Canvey restored the 2-goal lead a couple of minutes later when Ryan Edgar fired the bal into the top corner of the net having been set up by Curran.

The home side could have won by an even wider margin, but Bourne fired high of the goal as the game came to a close.

And so ended Sough's pre-season campaign. Whilst the results were never high up on the list of priorities, it was still really important for Rebels manager Darron Wilkinson to see the strengths and weaknesses of a mainly new squad for the upcoming campaign.

Slough Town squad:
Matt Pollard, Mark Bartley, Iain Duncan, Dean Harper, Steve Daly (c), Christian Metcalfe, George Moleski, Nick Roddis, Matt Miller, Lee Charles, Leon Woodruffe. Subs: Tom Windsor, Glen Faircloth, Adrian Brown, Naz Saed.
