Player Bio
Experienced manager Derek Sweetman took over the reigns as Slough manager following the resignation of Mark Betts and Richard Barnard on 15th March 2008, proclaiming that Slough Town had "eight cup finals" in order to avoid relegation.

Derek Sweetman, who originally joined the Rebels from Marlow during the late 1970's, returned to English Football in February 2006 as Assistant Manager at Burnham after spending a year living in France.

Sweetman has vast amounts of experience, having been Assistant Manager at Maidenhead United, Burnham and Marlow, where he was also Manager. He was joint manager of Egham Town during the 1997/98 season along with current Rebels coach Steve Roberts, as well as working with Roberts at Windsor & Eton when Sweetman was the Reserve Team Manager in 1989/90.

Sweetman started his football career as an apprentice at Southampton, and has also played for Windsor & Eton, Marlow and Slough Town. Derek holds a UEFA "B" coaching licence.
