The Report

The Rebels held league leaders AFC Totton to a credible draw in the fog at Holloways Park on Tuesday night to extend our unbeaten run to six games.

In a game of few chances, it was the visitors who applied the early pressure without ever really threatening Jamie Jackson, with a cross skimming the crossbar being the closest they came to a goal.

It was the Rebels however who mustered the first clear-cut chance of the evening, but Danny Jordan hit his shot straight at the goalkeeper. Jamie Jackson saved from Nathaniel Sherbourne for the visitors, whilst Byron Bubb (pictured right) also hit straight at the ‘keeper. James Pritchard came close from 20 yards before further chances came and went for Yashwa Romeo for Slough and Mike Gosney for Totton before the half-time whistle.

It took 10 minutes after the break for Totton to manage their first real threat to Jamie Jackson’s goal, with Jackson saving from Warner’s header, but overall the Rebels had slightly the better of the second period, and Byron Bubb had blasted wide of the far post.

Further chances in a dull match uneventful fell for Danny Jordan, who saw his 20 yard effort sail harmlessly wide of the goal, and James Pritchard who saw his shot blocked. The Rebels certainly had enough chances to have come from this game with all three points, but this was still a point well earned against one of the division’s top sides.

Hardly put a foot wrong in defence. Stood in brilliantly for Luke Evans.
