The Rebels picked
up a fortunate point against landlords Beaconsfield SYCOB on News
under former Rebel Jamie Jarvis (pictured right) took the game to
their "hosts" in the opening
stages of the game, and were rewarded as Paul Brett headed home
Stuart Swifts' free-kick with 15 minutes gone.
Slough had Jamie Jackson for thwarting
Bradly Bubb's chance shortly afterwards as the "visitors" threatened
to run away with the game early on. An unmarked Dunlop missed a
header as SYCOB pressured for another goal.
It was Slough's top marksman Matthew
Platt who scored next against the run of play. Byron Bubb was fouled
inside the box, only for Dean Harper to smash the resultant penalty
against the crossbar. Platt was on hand however to finish the
rebound and pull Slough onto level terms.
Bubb missed again for SYCOB when through down the right wing, and
Dean Harper (pictured left) hooked the ball clear off the line as
the Rams' dominance continued. However, it was the Rebels who took a
surprise and ultimately undeserved lead when Will Dunlop headed past
his own goalkeeper when attempting to deal with a long ball.
With Slough leading at half-time but not
playing well, a notably improved second half-performance went
unrewarded as the visitors came back to secure a deserved point.
Danny Jordan's shot smacked against the crossbar before he rounded
the 'keeper only to be blocked by a defender.
Bubb's (pictured right) shot was blocked and Matthew Platt headed
wide from the resulting corner as
Slough wasted yet more chances to increase their lead.
Just like Beaconsfield in the first half
however, they were left to rue missed chances as Bradley Bubb
rocketed a shot into the bottom corner after being put through down
the right wing.
