Rebels and North Leigh shared the spoils in the cold at Holloways
an opening 10 minutes with Yashwa Romeo (pictured right) and Matthew
Platt both firing wide, an
unmarked Karl Dodds headed into the net from inside the penalty
Leigh took control of the game and could have doubled their lead had
it not been for some desperate defending from Ricky Allaway, but
Matthew Platt fired into the bottom right corner of the net from the
edge of the area to bring the Rebels level.
It was now Slough's turn to dominate, as
Jagdeep Makh fired narrowly wide with Danny Jordan not far from
connecting with the ball.
10 minutes of the half remaining, Byron Bubb (pictured left) made a
mazy run through the centre of the park only to see his shot well
saved by the 'keeper and dip just over the crossbar for a corner
were further chances at either end, with Matthew Platt's shot
blocked and a shot hitting Jamie Jackson's post but it was all
square at the interval.
The high point of a dull second half
being Yashwa Romeo forcing a great save from ex-Rebel Lee Farrow, as
both sides seemed afraid to attack in the cold weather and hard
Slough played the last 20 minutes with a one-man advantage following
Ben Reardon's challenge on Ricky Allaway, earning Reardon a red card
and youngster Daniel Hicks his first appearance in a Rebels shirt.
