The Rebels come from behind but then fail to break down 10-man North Leigh and have to settle for a point.

The Report

The Rebels and North Leigh shared the spoils in the cold at Holloways Park.

Despite an opening 10 minutes with Yashwa Romeo (pictured right) and Matthew Platt both firing wide, an unmarked Karl Dodds headed into the net from inside the penalty area.

North Leigh took control of the game and could have doubled their lead had it not been for some desperate defending from Ricky Allaway, but Matthew Platt fired into the bottom right corner of the net from the edge of the area to bring the Rebels level.

It was now Slough's turn to dominate, as Jagdeep Makh fired narrowly wide with Danny Jordan not far from connecting with the ball.

With 10 minutes of the half remaining, Byron Bubb (pictured left) made a mazy run through the centre of the park only to see his shot well saved by the 'keeper and dip just over the crossbar for a corner kick.

There were further chances at either end, with Matthew Platt's shot blocked and a shot hitting Jamie Jackson's post but it was all square at the interval.

The high point of a dull second half being Yashwa Romeo forcing a great save from ex-Rebel Lee Farrow, as both sides seemed afraid to attack in the cold weather and hard ground.

Slough played the last 20 minutes with a one-man advantage following Ben Reardon's challenge on Ricky Allaway, earning Reardon a red card and youngster Daniel Hicks his first appearance in a Rebels shirt.

North Leigh finished the game on top however, and almost snatched a last winner, but their free-kick flashed narrowly wide of Jamie Jackson's far post and 1-1 it finished.
