The Rebels lost this game in a bizarre
five minute spell during the second half when high-flying AFC Totton
scored 3 goals.
It had all
started so well when Danny Jordan volleyed Slough in front from the
edge of the box after only 15 minutes. The home side almost hit back
soon afterwards, but Nathan Sherbourne's header hit the post.
Rebels goalkeeper Jamie Jackson was
called into action to turn Sherbourne's shot around the post, and
Dean Harper miscued his header from Byron Bubb's free kick in an
entertaining first 45 minutes.
Five minutes after the restart, the
home side were back on level terms as the ever dangerous Nathan
Sherbourne converted Taylors cross. Totton had their tails up and
were now dictating play, and furthered their lead after 70 minutes
when Chris Flood buried a cross into the back of the net.
Two minutes later, Ryan Hill's
free-kick flew past Jamie Jackson with the aid of a deflection,
before Chris Flood lobbed Jackson from 30 yards and all of a sudden
Slough found themselves 4-1 down.
With the game over, Steve Bateman
gave debuts to new signings Tyron Sealney and Andrew Iwediuno.
Totton continued to dominate however, but took their foot off the
peddle with the points secure.
Matthew Platt did fire the ball into
the back of the net following good work from Sealney and Bubb for a
consolation goal, but the Rebels were well beaten by one of the
division's top teams.
